Mostly comedy or light drama. However, we're always keen to try something a bit different and hope to expand our repertoire in the coming years. We have also put a foreign language show once a year for the past 4 years. Since 2015 we have performed 2 x French language shows, and 2 x Italian language shows. These include English surtitles (translation displayed above the stage) for those who don't speak the language.
Yes of course! We are always looking for new members to join our group.
Growl has lots of opportunities to be involved! As a community theatre group, we rely on our members to help out in all aspects of putting on a show. We always need actors, but it's the jobs behind the scenes that are essential to keeping the place running.
Visit Become A Volunteer to find out more about how you can join Growl Theatre.
Visit our Auditions page, subscribe to our Mailing List or follow us on Facebook to hear about upcoming auditions.
We try and do a mix of open auditions and member-only auditions, to find a balance between bringing in new faces to the group and rewarding our existing members and volunteers.
If you want to join our group to act, we will expect you to give back to the group/assist in other ways too.
The best way to join Growl is to get involved in a behind-the-scenes capacity and keep an eye out for upcoming auditions.
Unfortunately we are not responsible for the booking and hiring of the Windsor School of Arts hall and cannot assist you with that.
Italian theatre is back in Brisbane for a second year! After last year's sell-out Italian language production, Danteatro and Growl Theatre are collaborating again to present a show entirely in Italian. With English translation displayed above the stage (surtitles) for those who don't speak the language, or for hearing impaired.
